Local deputies install the automatic registration plate system in patrol machines

Colorado Springs, there. (KKTV) – Local deputies have installed a new system to help read the registration plates, according to the Sheriff’s office in Pueblo County.

The deputies said that 73 automatic recognition systems of the mobile registration plates (ALPR) were installed in each patrol machine, as part of the Dash Chamber Unit.

The ALPR system can read up to three lanes, whether the vehicles travel with or on the path of patrol vehicle.

It seems that the system reads the numbers and letters on the registration plate with a detection distance of up to about a mile.

The deputies said that this tool will help them in locating stolen vehicles, stolen registration plates and missing persons.
