Harrogate restaurant has been considered accidental, says Claiborne County Sheriff

Harrogate, tenn. (WVLT) – The fire that destroyed a restaurant and killed a person from Harrogate was accidental, said Claibborne County, Bob Brooks, Wvlt News.

It happened on Monday, causing a response to the Mexican Bronco restaurant from several agencies. After putting the fire under control, said Brooks, firefighters found a body inside. Brooks told Wvlt News that the person died of smoke inhalation.

Jan Jefferson, a woman working with Bronco, saw the fire and explained what he saw.

“In a few minutes, I mean it was lit,” Jan Jefferson said. “It was black smoke and it was white smoke.”

The Tennessee investigation office looked at the fire.
