Suspension of unjust, illegal Natasha Senate – Western Idahosa

A former federal parliamentarian, West Iidahosa, criticized the Senate’s decision to suspend Senator Natasha Akpoti-Auduagan.

Idahosa said the Senate not only did Senator Natasha, but also did Nigeria.

He added that Natasha did not receive a correct hearing by the commission and that the Senate’s decision to ignore the order worth the undermining of the judicial system.

“We all know that a few days ago – maybe two days ago – a court decision was communicated on Senate Nigeria, the ethics responsible committee and so on, with the proof of the service. This was widely circulated on social networks and everyone has seen it.

“In a single breath, there was no correct hearing – you have never heard the other part, as needed in section 36 of the Constitution. In another breathing, you have blatantly listened to a court decision.

Idahosa also claimed that Natasha’s suspension was predetermined, mentioning that the president of the Senate asked him to be prepared for suspension when he raised the order 10 for reallocating places in the red room.

“Once the Senate president allocates a place and a senator complains about their right to that place, it is a privilege. The right to be in the Senate is conferred by choices and a return certificate. Once she raised this point, in accordance with Order 10 – the famous order 10 she cited – the president’s officer had the duty to suspend all other issues, to take into account her complaint and to pronounce a formal decision.
