From the opportunity to calm down

The woman explained that two years ago, she left behind a comfortable life in South Africa to accept what seemed like an excellent opportunity with Lego in Denmark.

“It is an opportunity that they presented to me … believing it will be an excellent opportunity for her and also opening the way for other women in South Africa -Black Africa, who want to have an impact on a global stage,” she shared.

However, what followed was far from her expectations. She claims that she has suffered intimidation, harassment, discrimination based on a handicap, saying that she has evidence, including e -mails and records. According to his account, she has filed several complaints through management channels and internal denunciation systems over eleven months, but her concerns were assumed.

“I was called aggressively, intimidating. I do not know if they ignored my concerns because I am a black woman, but every time I try to look around, no one looks like me and no one could really help me,” she said in the video.

The situation became so stressful that it affected her health, forcing her to take medical leave and require drugs.

“I have never taken medicines and I had my medicines to grow up to be able to do everyday things as a normal person,” she revealed, but some did not believe her story.

Denmark usually has strict labor laws that Protect the employees by the abrupt cessation. In accordance with the Common Law Funktionærloven, employers must provide notice periods between one month (for those employed less than six months) up to six months (for those employed over nine years). The request for termination of the woman without notice raises questions, as such immediate redundancies in Denmark are usually reserved for serious work offenses, such as theft.

The Danish law also prohibits the cessation due to pregnancy, adoption, equal pay or discrimination applications. While employers may cease employment for documented financial reasons or cooperation difficulties, they must follow appropriate procedures. The unusual nature of its termination without notice has caused some social media commentators to wonder if there could be additional factors in the game in this situation.

“Certainly, there must be more stories, Denmark is an extremely progressive country, the company in question will respect the laws, etc.! Hard to believe that you will be stopped without course or settlement, etc. It takes more context!”
