The minister also said that they are moving on, tournataka tourists will be informed and will not ensure their safety.

“We will definitely intensify our security measures in places such as HAMPI and other tourist places,” Parameshwara said reporters from Bengaluru.

He continued to mention that the Government will re -evaluate the existing security measures.

The minister also mentioned that the rape of two women, including an Israeli national, is likely to affect the tourist sector.

“On the one hand, we try to attract tourists from all over the world, while other incidents like this discourage tourists from visiting our country.”

According to Parameshwara, on the night of March 6, two foreign nationals, including an Israeli citizen, along with two, went out to look at the banks of the Tungabhadra Canal.

Three young people approached the group and asked for directions to a petrol pump. When tourists expressed their knowledge, the young people robbed them.

One of the tourists had a verbal altercation with strangers, and in a fit of anger, men pushed tourists into the channel. While three of the tourists managed to escape, the fourth disappeared, and her body was found later.

It is assumed that foreigners have raped two women. The US national body has been recovered, Parameshwara said that the addition of two people have been arrested so far in this connection.
