Woman arrested for child poisoning in Jhenidah

RAB today arrested a woman about killing a 5 -year -old child, with poison on Friday in Kotchandpur UPAZILA in Jhenidah.

The Arescator is Humaira Khatun, 20 years old, Mahmuda Khatun’s stepmother, five years old.

It was arrested on Sunday in the Shishutala area in the village of Chadpur in Maheshpur Upazila. Later, Humaira was handed over to the Kotchandpur Police Section.

Major Naeem Ahmed, commander of the RAB-6 Jhenidah camp, confirmed the arrest.

Humaira is the second wife of Shahin Alam in the village of Bhomradanga in Kotchandpur Upazila.

According to the case statement, on the evening of March 1, Humaira mixed the poison with a liquid drink and fed it in Mahmuda. The child was immediately admitted to Chuadanga Sadar Hospital, where he died during treatment on Thursday.

The next day, Shahin Alam, Mahmuda’s father, filed a case of murder at the Kotchandpur police station, accusing his wife Humaira of killing his daughter.

The Kotchandpur police station, OC Kabir Hossain Matubbar, said that RAB arrested the accused on Sunday and handed over to the police station.

The accused will be produced before an instance after interrogation.
