A one -year -old boy remained with a significant scar from an accidental cut during a routine skin graft procedure. Troy Bedson from Crewe was admitted to the children’s hospital in Liverpool in February, in February, after suffering a burn from hot tea on the arm.

His mother, Talisha Brookshaw, 21, said that Troy would require a skin graft on February 17, a process in which to take the skin from the foot on the arm, in order to minimize scars.

However, after the operation, he received news that a mistake had been held; The surgical team made an incision on Troy’s thigh after an error with a blade. Talisha said that she gave the impression that she was “just a nick”, but when the bandages came out, the entire injury was revealed – a deep cut that stretches on the width of her son.

“Troy had a burn on the arm in a cup of tea and we had to go to Leighton Hospital,” Taisha said.

“They sent us to Alder Hey and we stayed for three nights. We had to return on the morning of February 17 and then they decided he needed a leather graft.

“And they took the skin from his foot to put their arm and, during that mistake of the skin, made a big slice on his foot -that should not happen at all.

“They were meant to shave a very thin piece of skin on the foot, but they cut it and entered the foot.

“Now he has a scar there and he had to get out of the leather graft without scars – he was not meant to happen at all.

“When they returned for the first time and transmitted this information to me, it seemed to me just as if they had a little stuck with the blade.

“I did not see the scar until a week after, because until it came out, everything was bandaged. I thought it would be a little nickname, but it was a pretty big cut.

“It was not clear what happened until I returned and they told me a little more. The staff didn’t say a lot at first, they just said it would take a few days to heal.

“I made someone come and tell me a little more about what actually happened during the operation. Two consultants and surgeons put the blade completely wrong and cut off his leg.

“I saw how big the scar is and I thought it wasn’t all right.”

Talisha claims that the hospital staff has reduced the injury and avoided telling her the full details of the incident. She said that her family has not yet received an adequate excuse and remains unclear about the specificity of the mistake, including the number of seams that her son asked.

“They were not very informative,” said Taisha.

“I felt that I didn’t know exactly what happened more than a week later, and the explanation seemed very fast.

“No one who actually did it after the operation and apologized or explained more in depth.

“When it was the first time, they said that the team is sorry and it was an accident.”

Since then, Talisha has tried to make an opinion for patients and a complaint of the connection service (PALS), but says the complaint was canceled for the hospital to make its own internal review.

While Tory’s recovery is going well, Talisha feels left in the darkness about the mistake.

“I thought the person who actually made the mistake would have come and apologized,” she said

“Maybe that’s not what I do, but I would have wanted to do that.”

“I didn’t even know how many seams he needed – I still don’t know. No one told me how many seams he had, only they were dissolvable.

“I would like to have given a depth explanation and they told me exactly what happened.”

A hospital spokesman said he was unable to comment on individual patients.
