Wichita runners raise funds to combat human trafficking

Wichita, Kan. (Kwch) – A non -profit Wichita working to fight human trafficking has received a helping hand from some local runners this weekend.

This is the fifth year of 4x4x48 Runwhich translates to runners who hit the sidewalk for 4 miles every 4 hours for 48 hours.

All to help raise funds at Support Tic SosAn organization that offers the therapy and advocacy services to adult survivors, high school and high school prevention education and community training opportunities.

About 20 people have registered for everything this year, including the Team Storm 12 Jake Dunne. Other runners joined the whole weekend.

The challenge started on Friday night and ended on Sunday afternoon.

“Everyone is tired, everyone is painful, but I think the thing that was really cool is every year I hear someone who says:” When I wanted to give up, I thought of survivors, “said the executive director of Tic Sos, Jennifer White. “” When I wanted to give up, I thought about the work you do and people who have no choice to move away from their situation and continue. “

This year’s event is also part of a larger project. The storm team 12 Meteorologist Jake Dunne, Tony Brown and Tyler Patterson are competing in Great world racewhich consists of seven marathons on seven continents in seven days.

He is one of the most challenging marathons in the world, and White said he hopes that their participation will help to raise awareness and funds for Tic Sos and to share his mission on a global stage.
