3 Arrested for theft over $ 60 in tools from South Bend Warehouse

South Bend, Ind. (Wndu) – Three men were arrested on a morning burglary and a police chase, which led to the recovery of tools over $ 60,000.

South Bend police was called just before 6 in the morning, at the Hilti distribution center in the 3500 block in Olive Road for a business alarm.

When they arrived, they saw a U-Haul truck leaving the warehouse. The police say he started driving in a way once an officer started to follow.

The police tried to pull the U-Haul truck, but instead led it to us 20.

After it collapsed, the police say three men left the truck and fled to an wooded area, but all three were finally arrested.

26 -year -old Marquell Stickland, 22 -year -old Darvel Grady and Aeron Halloway, 22, were taken to St. Joseph, regarding multiple preliminary charges related to the incident. They are waiting for formal tax decisions from the Prosecutor of St. Joseph.

The police have recovered numerous tools that were found behind the crashed U-Ha truck. Hilti employees said they are worth just over $ 61,000.
