12 people injured by 3 men who randomly shoot at customers in Toronto Pub | News, sports, jobs


Toronto (AP) – a dozen people were injured in a shot at an East Toronto pub, in what the police called an act of violence reckoned by three men who entered the bar and randomly fired.

The superintendent Paul Macintyre from the Toronto Police Service said that the authorities received numerous emergency calls that reported a shot at Piper Arms around 10:40 on Friday.

A preliminary investigation has established that three men entered the pub and started shooting at customers, Macintyre said during a press conference on the spot. There were no immediate arrests.

“A man was armed with what appears to be an assault rifle, the other two men were armed with hands -on -hand and entered the bar, and produced the weapons and opened the fire without discrimination on the people who were inside,” “ Macintyre said, adding that there are no victims.

The police arrived at the scene and found 12 people suffering from various wounds. The victims were transported to local hospitals and six have been confirmed that they have shooting injury that does not endanger life, Macintyre said, naming the victims “Extremely lucky.” The other six victims were injured by broken flight and glass.

The reason was not immediately clear, said Macintyre, calling on shooting “An act of divided and reckless violence, which really shook our community and city itself.”

Macintyre said he and other officers are “terrified” Through what they saw in a security video.

Shortly after shooting, the police said that a suspect wore a black balaclava was seen running in a silver machine and was still offshore. People were warned to stay away from the area.
