The review petition submitted in the HC Kerala (M) Veteran MM Body donation of Lawrence, quotes the video taken that shows his desire to be buried

Asha Lawrence, the daughter of Veteran IPC (M), MM Lawrence, was close to the High Kerala court, again challenging her father’s body to Ernakulaam Medical College. It also joined her sister Suja Boban in the written petition.

It is claimed that they have recently taken a video in which their father said that his body should be buried in the place where Suja says.

The veteran died at the age of 95 on September 21, 2024. He was the CPI district secretary (M) and was closed during the emergency. In 1980, he became a Lok Sabha member of the Idukki district of Kerala, and subsequently held the position of convening of the LDF, a member of the Central Committee of the IPC (M) and of the National Secretary of the Center for Indian commercial unions (CITU).

Shortly after his death, Asha Lawrence was close to the High Court who challenged the decision of her brothers and the part (M) to teach her body at Ernakulaam Medical College. Initially, when the case arrived before the single judge, the court guided the medical college to take a decision After taking into account Asha’s objection. However, later, another writing was submitted to challenge the decision of the Medical College to accept the body. The same was the same dismissed by the single judge. A call in front of the division bank was too dismissed. Her special leave petition was too dismissed by the Supreme Court.

Asha has now submitted a petition to review in front of the High Court, saying they had access to a video in which her father expressed the desire to be buried. According to the petition, her father declared the following in the video:

I want to go to heaven. I want to see Jesus. I should be buried in the place where Suja says. There should be no deviation from it. I am very particular in this regard.“(Translated from Malayalam)

It was stated that Suja, during the hearing made by the Medical College, said she had a video with her father expressing the desire to be buried in the church, but that video was missing. In the instant review petition it is stated that he could recover that video.

ASHA claimed that the High Court and the Supreme Court rejected the previous petitions saying that it could not produce any evidence to show that the veteran wanted his body to be buried according to Christian rites. She claims that they have new access to evidence to demonstrate the opposite and should be allowed to bury their body according to Christian rites.

The petition is moved by Lawyers Krishna Raj, R. Pratheesh, Es Soni, Sreeraja V., Laxmi Priyaa NP
