New York sued Allstate for breacing violations

The state of New York sued Allstate and its national unit on Monday, accusing the insurance provider of not reporting data violations 2020 and 2021 affecting almost 200,000 consumers.

Data violations took place between August and November 2020 and January 2021 and exposed driving license numbers of over 165,000 New York, according to those complaint filed by the State General Prosecutor Lititia James at the New York Supreme Court in Manhattan.

The complaint accuses the company of violating the Stop Stop Hacks in New York and improves the electronic data security law. The punishment for the violation of the law is $ 5,000 for violation.
