Skowhegan traffic stop leads to drug taxes

Skowhegan – a stop of routine traffic for vehicle defects has led to multiple drug charges for a local woman Tuesday night, according to police.

Officer Damion Romo stopped Jessica Salsbury, 47, while operating a 2009 Silver Nissan Nissan around 11:15

During the investigation, K9 Reece was brought to the scene by SGT. Joshua York to carry out a vehicle’s aerial smell.

The subsequent search led to the confiscation of 0.54 grams of cracked cocaine, 0.24 grams of crystal methamphetamine and 4.99 grams of fungi, the police said.

Also, the officers confiscated an EBT card that did not belong to Salsbury, a drug and money register from the sale of illegal drugs.

Salsbury was arrested and charged with two charges of illegal programmed drug detention, Class C offenses, an illegal program of scheduled drugs, a class D crime and a misuse of the public benefit instrument, a class offense D.
