Taylor Hinds: Liverpool Defender Target of sexually improper comments

The Liverpool defender, Taylor Hinds, says she is “determined to take a stand” after being subjected to “comments from an inappropriate sexual point” from a fan during the victory of the female side, at Arsenal, Sunday.

Hinds said he heard comments while he was down with a head injury during Liverpool’s 1-0 victory.

She and a teammate reported comments to officials and a member of the crowd was removed from the stadium.

Hinds, who captured Liverpool, said it is “hard” to continue playing after comments.

“I will not let the actions of an individual ruin what was a fantastic day for our team and for our supporters, but it is not right and I was determined to make a position,” said the Jamaica defender.

“It was hard for my mother and father not to realize what was happening and to find out later what was shouting at their daughter during a football game.

“I am doing well and I would like to thank my teammates and everyone from Liverpool for having my back, as well as the match officials for their fast actions and for all Arsenal for their assertive actions and their support.

“Together we can continue to make our sport better both now and for the following years.”
