The man accused of sexual battery in Marion County has detained at Orlando airport, deputies say

Ocala, fla. -A man was arrested while trying to climb in a flight after being accused of multiple charges, including Sexual Battery and Lewd, the Marion County Sheriff’s office said in a press release.

Jose Godinez-Rodriguez, 49, was caught at Orlando International Airport while trying to get on a flight, deputies said.

In January, detectives were told that Godinez-Rodriguez would have sexually abused a minor victim, according to the arrest declaration.

The juvenile told the detectives that Godinez-Rodriguez has moved it on several occasions and offered memories of unwanted abuse and touch, says the statement.

The detectives tried to contact Godinez-Rodriguez, but they failed, so a mandate was obtained for his arrest, according to the statement.

By investigating the initial report, the detectives learned about another victim who revealed that she was sexually abused when she was a child in Ocala, the statement said.

The victim, now an adult, has revealed multiple incidents of sexual abuse and molestening over several years, according to the statement.

On February 25, the detectives were announced that Godinez-Rodriguez was caught at the airport and taken to the Marion County prison.

Godinez Rodriguez is facing multiple accusations, including capital sexual battery, sexual battery by a person in custody authority, remaining or lascivious conduct, simple battery and four low or lascivious molestening charges, according to the statement.

Detectives think they may have victimized other children. Anyone who has information about other potential victims should contact Detective Hartigan at (352) 368-3535, the statement said.
