Redwood Empire Bank Food Bank Casualty Houses get the date of process

Redwood Empire Food Bank and his former CEO is sent to court by a former executive director who claims to have been sexually harassed and dismissed in reprisals.

A November test date was set for the Redwood Empire Food Bank and his former CEO, David Goodman, for the accusations that Goodman has sexually harassed one of the former directors of the non -profit.

Former Director of the Development of Food Bank, Lisa Cannon, filed a complaint In February 2024 against Goodman and the Food Bank, which claim sexual harassment, sexual discrimination, reprisals, the failure to take the necessary measures to prevent harassment, discrimination and discharge of misunderstanding with violation of public policy.

It was set up a trial date of November 14. During the latest hearing of a compulsory settlement hearing, it was not scheduled during the latest case.

Cannon fights for non -economic damages, punitive damages, economic damages and lawyer taxes. In a hearing on February 20, the lawyers on each side requested a trial, according to the Superior Court of Sonoma County, minutes from the hearing.

In an E -mail to the press democrat on Thursday, Cannon’s lawyer, Candice Clipner, said a process was not the result that the customer hoped.

Clipner said that Cannon hopes to recover his job after what he felt was wrong.

“This was very difficult for Mrs. Cannon. And she loved the job and excelled in her position, even though she had to provide an inadequate significant conduct from the defendant Goodman to keep her job. Since its cessation, it has been diagnosed with anxiety, depression and PTSD, as a result of harassing and ceasing its hiring, ”said Clipner.

Cannon argues that Goodman has done More inappropriate comments and spent an unusual time in her office In the five years he worked at the Food Bank.

She was employed in November 2018, and in January 2019, Paula Handelman, the director of the Finance of the Food Bank at that time, warned Cannon that Goodman “becomes easily in love with people,” according to the complaint. Handelman told Cannon that it usually doesn’t take long, but then they will “have a target on their back.”

The complaint said Goodman will spend hours in Cannon’s office, and the two will frequently go together. Goodman asked Cannon about her relationship with her lover and would say details about Cannon about her marriage, according to the complaint.

On one occasion, Cannon told Goodman he had something to say:

“Ceo Goodman asked him:” Are you going to say you love me? “The applicant (Cannon) said no. CEO Goodman said: “Because I love you,” according to the complaint.

The trial claims that Handelman told Cannon that he had to set better borders with Goodman so he can do more work. Cannon said Goodman was her boss and couldn’t tell her to leave, according to the complaint.

On January 11, 2024, Goodman told Cannon that he had heard from the human resources director about some people who believed that the two were too close and that they were hurting the organization. Cannon told her that it was not the first time the HR shared concerns about Goodman spending time in her office.

The next day, the continuous complaint, the two had a similar conversation in Goodman’s office. Goodman told Cannon that if he cares about the food bank, he should consider the resignation.

Cannon refused to resign and Goodman told him that he did not see a solution for it, apart from her, according to the complaint, which detailed and Goodman saying: “You have done an incredible job, and this is not at all based on performance, but your time at Redwood Empire Food Bank is over.”

After leaving the food bank, Cannon received a change in the relationship that he said he was falsely stated that he voluntarily resigned, according to a modified complaint filed in July 2024 by Clipner.

On March 11, 2024, President Redwood Empire Food Bank, David Berry, sent an Email who said Goodman and resigned in the previous week.

Allison Goodwin then took over the interim CEO function. She was called at permanent post in September 2024.

In the modified complaint, Goodman and the Food Bank are listed as separate defendants.

“Mr. Goodman denies that he was engaged in an inappropriate or illegal behavior while working at Redwood Empire Food Bank. He is looking forward to the process in which he will be completely claimed,” said Goodman’s lawyer, Maurice Fitzgerald when he was contacted by telephone.
