The government prohibits 2 groups in Kashmir for 5 years for “supporting terrorism”

On Tuesday, the Government forbade the AWAMI Action Committee (AAC) led by leader Hurriyat, Mirwaiz shoulder Farooq and Jammu and Kașmir Ittihad Muslimeen (JKIM), led by the Shia leader, Masroor Ansari, for five years for their alleged anti-national activities, supplying terrorism.

Farooq is the president of the separatist Amalgam All Part Hurriyat the conference and main clergy of Jamia Masjid in Srinagar, the largest and most influential mosque in Kașmir, where he offers sermons. Ansari is also a main leader of the conference from all Hurriyat parties and a leader from Kașmir.

In a notification, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MHA) said that AAC is released to illegal activities that harmful integrity, sovereignty and security of the country.

The ministry said that leaders and members of AAC were involved in mobilizing funds for the perpetuation of illegal activities, including supporting secessionist, separatist and terrorist activities in Jammu and Kașmir.

He said that “AAC and its members, through their activities, showed a lack of respect for the constitutional authority and the constitutional establishment of the country, and the outfit is involved in promoting and helping the Driver Jammu and Kașmir from India, involving in anti-national and subversive activities”.

“AAC urges people to destabilize the law and order, encouraging the use of weapons to separate Jammu and Kașmir from the Union of India and promoting hatred against the consecrated government,” he said.

In a separate notification, Mha said that Jkim was allowed in illegal activities, which harmful to the integrity, sovereignty and security of the country. Its members have been involved in supporting terrorist activities and anti-India propaganda to feed secessionism in JK, he said.

The Ministry of Origin said that leaders and JKIM members were involved in mobilizing funds for the perpetuation of illegal activities, including in support of secessionist, separatist and terrorist activities in Jammu and Kașmir.

“It also encourages the use of weapons to cause Jammu and Kașmir’s secession in the Union of India and to promote hatred against the consecrated government,” notification shows.

In a position on X, the Union Minister Amit Shah said that the two organizations in Jammu and Kașmir were forbidden, because they incited people to create legal and order situations, representing a threat to the country’s unity and integrity.

“Anyone who is found involved in activities against peace, order and sovereignty of the nation is obliged to face the crushing blow of the Modi Government,” he said.
