Pyongyang says the accidental bombardment of Jets South Korea shows a possible armed conflict

SEUL: North Korea said on March 12 that a recent accidental bombing of a civilian area by South Korea fighters shows that an inconvenience could trigger a new armed conflict on the Korean Peninsula, the State News Agency informed.

The two aircraft mistakenly threw eight air-surface bombs in a village near the military border with North Korea last week, hurting 29 civilians in an accident that the South military said was probably caused by a pilot error.

The area was near a regular training field used by South Korea and its allies, which is close to the border.

“We must not explain how the situation had been carried out if the bombs had been thrown to the north and the border passes,” said the KCNA State News Agency.

“It is not an unreasonable imagination at all … that an accidental spark could encompass the Korean Peninsula and the world in a new armed conflict, in response to the great malt of common military exercises from the US and South Korea.”

South Korean and US military began annual exercises for freedom shield on March 10, which will take place until March 20, but suspended fire exercises from the bombing accident.

North Korea usually denounces common military exercises by the Allies, calling a war for war against it.

South Korea rejects this accusation, saying that the exercises are defensive and aims to maintain the preparation against a possible aggression in North Korea.

The US Defense Department had no comments immediately.

Kcna said: “This incident is an example of how the various US demonstrations and its followers are not for” peace and stability in South Korea “, as they argue, but extremely dangerous and German acts that can reproduce an imminent crisis and the first nuclear war in the world.”

He warned to take “merciless actions”, without being notified, if necessary because of the military activities of his enemies. – Reuters
