Parkersburg – Wood County Education Council voted on Tuesday evening to place Williamstown Middle/High School, Jason Ward, on the suspension paid to an investigation.

The Board of Directors refused to comment on the circumstances that led to the suspension.

“Since there is a pending investigation, there was no accusation against () the employee who guarantees an unpaid suspension.” Said the chairman of the Board of Directors, Justin Raber. “When it comes to an employee who wants to request a hearing on an unpaid suspension and/or termination, this is the moment when we, as a council, are allowed to hear the evidence and make a decision. We cannot receive this information before hearing, to which the employee is present. “

The students at Williamstown High School expressed concern about the suspension during the meeting.

“Removing him from school would be a wrong move from the Education Council”, “ Said senior Ava Lightfritz. “It has never been placed over any of the students or personal, (and) always assures what to do.”

A motion for accepting the delimitation lines proposed for Hamilton and Jackson middle schools died due to the lack of a second. The Board of Directors will review the motion at the next meeting for March 25th.
