Suspect in Live Streamer killing says the victim owed him money

NHK sources say that a man arrested under the suspicion that he had killed a living Streamer on a Tokyo street told the police that he had borrowed money from at least one consumer financing service to borrow the victim, but he did not pay it back.

The officers detained Takano Kenichi on Tuesday at the scene of the stabbed attack, who claimed Sato Airi’s life, a 22 -year -old resident in Tama in Tokyo. They arrested him under the suspicion of attempted murder, but now he treats him as a crime suspect.

Takano is supposed to use a survival knife to stab the victim dozens of times, while sending a live video in the Takadanobaba area of Shinjuku Ward.

The police say Takano denies the intention to kill the woman. He quotes him by saying that he borrowed Sato more than 2 million Yen, or about $ 13,500, to cover his mobile phone taxes and other expenses, but that he did not pay him back.

Investigators say the suspect told them that the victim also asked for a loan to help pay for his relatives.

They say that in January last year, the suspect went to the police near his residence in the Tochigi Prefecture, north of Tokyo, to report unpaid debts.

The police say the attacker seems to have had a unilateral resentment towards the victim in terms of problems that include money.
