Secure Financing for Industrial Heritage Support for England

Secure Financing for Industrial Heritage Support for England

The role of the officer supporting the industrial heritage, which is managed by Ironbridge Ghege Museum Trust, has ensured financing to allow them to continue its activity in preserving the industrial heritage of England.

The financing applies to the year April 25 – March 26 and aims to support about 600 sites in England.

The project is managed by the IHSO officer, Mike Nevell and aims to develop partnerships and promote partnership through the industrial heritage networks in England.

At the end of March, the first round of meetings of the industrial heritage network for 2025 will take place online, and on April 25, Mike will talk at an event hosted in Coalbrookdale, organized by The Boiler and Engineering Skills Training Trust, about the need for engineers trained to run industrial heritage sites.

The projects from 2025 and 2026 are expected to include a major report on the industrial heritage sector in England, several online training seminars and the continuation of industrial heritage networks.

“We are delighted that our partners from Historian England and the Association for Industrial Archeology have agreed to finance the support officer of the post industrial heritage, based at Ironbridge Cheeum Museum Trust, in 2025/26. This role is vital for the support of the larger industrial heritage sector and is a brand of IGMT importance as an industrial leader organization. In a period of increased reductions in heritage organizations and cost increase, this role has never been more relevant. “

Nick Booth, collections and learning director at Ironbridge Cheile Museum Trust
