Derry woman will be convicted of losing police time for the accusation of sexual assault – The Irish News

A woman will be convicted in May, after acknowledging the charging of police time, making an accusation of sexual assault.

Sheriff Lisa (34 years old) at Derry’s courtyard appeared at the magistrates of the city accused of losing the police time, making a false accusation of sexual assault against a man.

The court heard that the defendant initially called the police on February 4, 2023 to report that it was sexually assaulted by a third party.

At that time, she refused to make other statements, and the accusation was refused by the accused.

Later, the sheriff contacted the police and admitted that he lied about the alleged attack, saying that she is upset and he wants to get money.

Defense lawyer, Shannon Doherty, said that accusations of sexual aggression were “very serious”, but added that the sheriff is “vulnerable” and asked for a pre-sent report.

District judge Barney Mcelholm said that either the defendant was “an evil, malicious person” or a vulnerable person he had been taken.

He ordered a pre-sent report, and the sheriff will appear again on May 9.
