Man who went to the station to kill an officer, attacked a woman in the hall

Lorain County, Ohio (Woio) – a man went to the Elyria police station with “the explicit intention to kill an officer”, but when he did not find one in the hall, he attacked a woman, said Police Elyria.

This happened around 2:30 pm in the station hall, at 18 West Ave.

The police said the woman was standing in line to get a copy of the report, when Daniel Carrillo was close with a belt in her hands and wrapped her around her neck.

She told the police after seeing her eyes in his eyes, he thought he would kill her.

The officers saved the woman from Carrillo and immediately placed him in handcuffs.

“I want to congratulate the respondent officers for the quick response and the decisive actions in preventing further violence,” said police captain Elyria, Bill Lantz.

The woman, who has an anterior heart condition, suffered a laceration on the nose and hand and redness around the neck and joints. She was treated by life care at the station, but refused additional medical treatment.

Carrillo told the officers that he had smoked marijuana before reaching the station and took out the belt before entering the “plan to use his belt” and if he is released today, he will try to kill again.

“Our thoughts remain with the victim, who endured a traumatic and unprovocated attack. She showed extraordinary resistance and we are grateful that she was not seriously injured. It was evaluated by the medical staff on the spot and, while refusing the additional treatment, we will continue to ensure that it has access to the necessary resources and support, ”said Captain Lantz.

Carrillo remains in arrest at the prison in Lorain County.

He faces charges of criminal aggression, strangulation, assault, aggravated threats and disordered behavior in a state of intoxication.
