Baltimore – American immigration and customs application (ICE) arrested Javier Zeledon Reyes, a 56 -year -old citizen at Hyattsville on March 6, after recognizing during immigration procedures to massacre about 20 people in the 90’s, while serving in the Nicaraguan army.

ICE officials said Zeledon also recognized helping a Mexican drug cartel after leaving Nicaragua.

“This arrest highlights exactly why ice is vital for the safety of our nation,” said Matthew Elliston, ICE’s application and removal operations, the director of the Baltimore Land Bureau, Matthew Elliston. “His presence in the United States was a direct threat to public safety.”

The US Customs and Border Protection previously took Zeledon at the Gateway International Bridge in Brownsville, Texas, on March 29, 2023, and issued a notification that will appear in the immigration court.

During an hearing on March 5 in front of the Executive Office of the Justice Department for the revision of the immigration, Zeledon acknowledged that he served in the 1995 to Nicaraguan army and fired an AK-47, killing about 20 civilians.

He also told the court that he had moved to Mexico later and offered material support to a cartel.

The immigration judge ordered the removal of Zeledon from the United States.

A man from Nicaraguan who recognized war crimes and cartel links was arrested and ordered deported after living in the US.
