Mega awareness on medicinal, aromatic plants, held at Teligna Varsity

Nizamabad: In an attempt to promote a sustainable and profitable agriculture, the University of Telangana, in collaboration with the Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic CSIR (CIMAP), organized a Mega Awareness Camp on Wednesday for farmers on his campus. The event, attended by over 100 farmers from all over the Nizamabad district, aimed to introduce them to the economic benefits of cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants.

During the camp, the scientist Cimap, Dr. Gnanesha Gowda, offered a detailed presentation of advanced agricultural and national and international agriculture techniques for these commercial plantations. “Farmers can double their income, moving to the cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants,” he explained.

Vice-Cancerul Tlagana University, Prof. T. Yadagiri Rao, encouraged farmers to adopt new modern agricultural technologies and practices. “It is time to reduce the emphasis on traditional cultures and to go to important commercial plantations, such as medicinal and aromatic plants for the economic empowerment of our farmers,” he said, reminding his own agricultural experiences and asking for a change to modernization.

The awareness camp, a first large -scale initiative at the University at the University, was jointly organized by Unnat Abhiyan, the research and development cell and the IPR cell of the Telagana University. The event presented interactive sessions in which the farmers were employed with experts to discuss both the advantages and the challenges of the transition to these alternative cultures.

Cimap scientists also distributed lemon, Ashwagandha and other medicinal and aromatic plants to participants. The members of the Senior of the Faculty, including Vasam Chandrashekar, Shirisha Boyapati, M. Satyanarayana and Punnaiah Akkinepally, played key roles in coordinating the meeting, ensuring a fruitful exchange of ideas and expertise.
