The private school in the Baltimore area sued for alleged sexual abuses on the student in the 1960s

The private school in the Baltimore area sued for alleged sexual abuses on the student in the 1960s

A trial was filed against the McDonogh school, a private institution in Baltimore, claiming that he allowed a former dean to sexually abuse a student in the 1960s.

This recent process is the fourth against the school of the law on victims of children in Maryland, which became law in 2023, eliminating the status Limitations of cases of sexual abuse of children

.

The new 10 -page process details a former student’s account of being sexually assaulted several times by former Dean Alvin Levy, while alone on the weekend.

Ari Casper, who represents the alleged victim, said that his client was 10 years old when the abuse reported.

“He has ruined the lives of many McDonough students and that the damage will not disappear,” Casper said from the Casper law firm.

The process claims that school did not protect the students

The last trial says the accuser claims that the McDonogh school was aware of abuse and failed to protect the students.

“The easiest thing to do would be to eliminate the dean from its position, but not only did McDonogh not do this, but Alvin Levy remained dean and was ten years later to abuse these children,” Casper said.

In a statement to WJZ, McDonogh School said: “We are aware of the new process that has been submitted against the school. McDonogh remains employed to favor a community in which students and adults feel comfortable identifying and reporting sexual abuse.

McDonogh Faculty’s statements

In 1992, Levy was charged with charges of sexual abuse brought by another former student. However, Levy died before the scheduled process.

Casper said an investigation by McDonogh School later revealed that five former faculty members, including Levy and former Spanish professor Robert Creed, sexually assaulted two dozen students between 1940 and 1980, with the Board of Directors and former administrators of the school who did not take appropriate measures.

Two other trials against the school mention the charges against Creed and Levy.

According to the law of victims of children in 2023 in Maryland, Casper believes his client, and others have a clear way to justice.

“All I can look for at this time is to account for McDonogh for conduct, because he did not protect them, to allow this horrible abuse,” Casper said.
