South Korean military investigators on Thursday accused two pilots of the air forces with a criminal negligence for an accidental bombing of a village last week during a training exercise, which injured at least 29 people and caused extensive material damage.

The pilots were accused of criminal negligence that caused bodily injury, said the command, adding that the incident investigation is ongoing.

Eight bombs without guide air-surface were launched from two combat jets and landed on a village in Pocheon, near the border with North Korea, during live fire exercises.

Several areas of Pocheon and neighboring regions have instructional reasons used by the South -Korean and US military.

The inhabitants have been crying for years by the potential risks of safety and disturbances of the military units that are mobilized in the area.

The two pilots were taken out of flight tasks and a review of their flight mission certification was scheduled, a ministry official said.

The chief of the General Staff of the Air Force and apologized for the accident and hired to examine the mission procedures to prevent similar incidents.

North Korea, which usually denounces military exercises by the South Coreen and US military, said the accident showed the risk that the exercises would trigger the armed conflict, citing the possibility that the bombs could have thrown to the north of the border.
