An American high school running woman was accused of attacking offenses and battery, after a viral video showed him a head of the competitor with her wand at a relay. According to the ABC News report, the victim ended up having an emotion. The girl facing accusations was identified as Alaila Everett in Virginia. She is a senior student at the IC Norom High School in Portsmouth.

The runner took part in the second stage of the relay race of 4×200 meters, when he hit the cane on another athlete, Kalen Tucker. It can be seen in the video that hits the cane on the head of the other sportsman. The whole incident took place on March 4, during the Championships of the League of the Virginia State High School of Liberty University in Lynchburg.

Details about the case

On Wednesday (March 12), Lynchburg City’s Commonwealth lawyer, Bethany Harrison, said an accusation of attack and battery against Everett has been issued on this issue.

Tucker is a junior student from Brookville High School. In the viral video, it stumbles and reaches the track after being hit by the cane.

After hitting, she was taken to medical care. Later, she will be treated for an emotion, she said, according to a Wvec report, an ABC affiliate from Hampton, Virginia.

She added: “I was so unbelieving. I didn’t know what happened.”

In an interview broadcast on the US TV program “Good Morning America”, Everett shared his point of view on the incident, insisting that the cane strike was an accident.

She said, “I would never do this intentionally, this is not in my character.”

According to Everett’s family, Tucker was too close to their daughter, which led to an accidental incident. This proximity caused Everett to lose his balance and cane to contact Tucker.
