A Three -Flying Longford mother who acknowledged that she had a burglary was directed to contribute to charity if she wishes to avoid a conviction.

Annette Igoe (43 years old) in Manor Lodge, Ballinalee Road, was guilty of the Longford District Court at 17.50 PM, on July 15, 2023.

Sergeant Enda Daly said Gardaí was called earlier at apartment 5, Take 2, Earl Street, Longford, to talk to a plaintiff.

“The injured party said he received text messages from a lady known as the defendant who was looking for money from him and also made accusations against him in terms of her husband,” he said. “The injured party confirmed to Gardaí that he had found money in his apartment a few days before, who thought he belonged to Mrs. Igoe’s husband and contacted them to arrange the money back.”

SGT Daly said later, on July 15, at 6:00 pm, “Gardaí responded from the plaintiff that his apartment was shattered by the defendant and he followed him to the station.”

SGT Daly said the officers participated in the station and talked to the injured party, who claimed that Mrs. Igoe called her apartment to raise the money.

“He said that Mrs. Igoe passed by him at the door of his apartment, and she took her tobacco and keys on the windowsill,” he added.

The court heard that the defendant was subsequently arrested under the suspicion of burglary, and the applicant’s keys were found in her bag and admitted, but denied to steal tobacco.

Mrs. Igoe had a previous sentence.

Applicant Frank Gearty said his client, a three -year -old mother, went to the applicant’s door with a bit of drink on board and opened the door after noticing the keys in the door.

The court heard Mrs. Igoe, then put the keys in her pocket and entered the apartment.
