Washington (DPA-AFX)-a report published on Thursday by the Labor Department, unexpectedly showed a modest decrease in requests for the first time for US unemployment benefits in March 8.

The Department of Labor said that the initial demands of jobs decreased to 220,000, a decrease of 2,000 compared to the revised level of the previous week of 222,000.

Diph surprised the economists, who were expecting job claims from 225,000 from 221,000 initially reported for the previous week.

Meanwhile, the report said that the less volatile average of four weeks increased to 226,000, an increase of 1,500 compared to the review of the previous week of 224,500.

The Labor Department also said that the requests continue, a reading on the number of people who received undergoing unemployment assistance, decreased by 27,000 to 1,870 million in the week ended on March 1.

The four -week -old average of the continuous claims continued to increase to 1,872,250, an increase of 6,250 compared to the non -disbursed average of the previous week of 1,866,000.

A more careful report published by the Department of Friday showed that a job in the US has grown little less than expected in February.

The report stated that the employment of non-agricultural labor was climbed with 151,000 jobs in February, after rising with a downward review 125,000 jobs in January.

Economists expected the employment to increase with 160,000 jobs, compared to the addition of 143,000 jobs initially reported for the previous month.

The Labor Department also said that unemployment increased to 4.1 percent in February from 4.1 percent in January, while economists expected the unemployment rate to remain unchanged.
