Provide Akpabio evidence sexually harassed – Adeyanju tells Sena Natasha

The lawyer and activist for human rights, Deji Adeyanju, asked Senator Natasha Akpoti-Auduhan, who represents Kogi Central, to present concrete evidence to support his accusations against the Senate president, Godswill Akpabio.

According to Adeyanju, without verifiable evidence, Akpoti-Uiduagan’s statements would remain mere accusations.

Daily Post reminds that Akpoti-Iuduhan recently accused Akpabio of making improper progress during a visit to his December 2023 residence.

Following these accusations, the Senate Committee for Ethics, Privileges and Public Petitions examined its behavior and recommended a six-month suspension, which the Senate approved.

The suspension includes additional penalties: her Senate office will be blocked, salaries and retained allowances, withdrawn security details, prohibition of official representation and restriction from the entrance to the national meeting during the suspension.

However, while on Friday’s journalists, Adeyanju mentioned that the controversies around Akpoti-Uiduhan and Akpabio have been exaggerated.

He believes that the problem should be taken in court for a proper solution, allowing Nigerians to focus on more pressing concerns, such as the fiscal reform invoice and the potentially negative impact on low and medium income winners.

The lawyer also emphasized that there was no public cry when the parliamentarians divided cars, money and budgetary allocations in the National Assembly.

He said, “The problem was overloaded. I think the parties should go to court and solve their problems. And we should focus on the Nigeria fiscal reform bill and see how we can galvanize and stop that the tax reform bill is more important than this international problem. “

He asked why the same senators who are now engaged in this dispute have not opposed the anti-political policies of the current administration.

Adeyanju said: “The question I asked myself is: when all these anti-people policies of the Tinubu government took place, why do these senators who do not fight now for the accusation of sexual harassment, the accusation of” Oh, does the Senate embarrass “, the culture of silence and everything opposes the anti-opera policies?

“All the time they shared cars in the National Assembly, I did not hear any fight. The time they divided money and budgetary allocations, I did not hear any struggle. Now, we hear a fight.

“I also honestly feel that Senator Natasha made these statements that the Senate president tried to sexually harass her. I also believe that Senator Natasha should, of necessity, since they refused to provide a correct hearing in the Senate, public credible evidence to support the request.

“It’s very easy. The man said it was a lie. “I did nothing.” So, if there are messages – maybe “Oh, please come, so” – please reveal them, expose the man. After all, the supporter must prove. Why do you protect the man? “
