Tampa, fla. – A navy died after being hit by a vehicle while running along a road from Macdill Air Force Base.

Military officials declared CPL. Jack Cody ran on a road based on around 7:16 on Wednesday when he was hit. The first aid was granted on the spot and Cody was taken to the General Hospital in Tampa, where he died later.

Cody was an American navy from the Ampifibian Ampifibian Assault Battalion of the Marine Corps reserve training center.

“Corporal Cody was loved by everyone in the unit and the heart of his section,” said Lt. Col. He saddened us and we will continue to fully fulfill our mission in his honor. He will be forever in our memory.”

Officials said that the 4th AABN mission is to “perform amphibious and mechanized operations to support the soil fighting element, fires, force protection and control and control.”
