Newcastle Man will pay the 1K taxi driver of pounds for “naked” fist

A drunk revealer who hit a soil taxi driver in a “naked” and unprovocated attack was ordered to pay 1,000 pounds in compensation.

Aaron Kendall, 24 years old, drank Newcastle’s Bigg market when he injured the driver who stopped to use a cash machine, heard the city’s crown yard.

The victim remained with a scar with 1in (3cm) along the forehead and said that the attack was afraid at work.

Lorry Kendall driver from Newcastle acknowledged unintentional injury and was closed for a year suspended for 18 months.

Kendall was in a state of intoxication when it was close to the taxi on the Bigg market shortly before 03:00 BST on April 14, prosecutor Kevin Wardlaw said.

The driver agreed to take Kendall to Walbottle, but they had to stop for the defendant to get money, the court told.

While he was in the car, Kendall asked the driver to “please get me out of town”, as he did not feel safe from an argument with someone else, the court heard, with the driver telling him not to worry.

The driver came out of his car to the cash car on George Street to help his passenger, said Mr. Wardlaw, but after retiring the money, Kendall returned and hit the strong man in front of him.

Then, Kendall threw himself back to the man, but missed before he drove him around the car shouting “Come on, heard the court.

The driver managed to escape into his car and returned to the Bigg market to receive medical treatment at a stationary ambulance there.

In a statement read before the court, the driver said that he had not been able to work for a week and when he returned, he was afraid he would not be attacked again.

The Ian Mullarkey recorder said it is a “completely undoubted” and “unproclaimed” attack, using “free violence” someone who offers a public service.

He said that Kendall, who had previous convictions because he was drunk and messy, “clear” had a problem to become aggressive when drinking.

But he said that there is a realistic perspective of rehabilitation, so that the term of the prison could be suspended, although he warned Kendal that he “came in incredibly close” to be closed.

Kendall, from Kirkwood Drive in Kenton, must also complete 150 unpaid works, meets a three -month curfew between 21:00 and 06:00 and pay the driver 1,000 pounds in compensation at a rate of 100 pounds per month.
