A Marin was fatally hit by a vehicle while running on a road on Tuesday based on Macdill air forces, Florida Base officials said on Friday.

Cpl. Jack Cody was pronounced dead at the General Hospital in Tampa, where he was in a hurry after being hit around 7:15, according to a basic aircraft statement. Cody was a member of the 4th battalion of the Marine’s assault amphibian, a reserve unit based in South Tampa, near Macdill.

Basic officials said the incident was investigated and provided few details, including whether the vehicle driver was arrested or expected to face charges.

Marine leaders described Cody as well pleasing in his unit and a high-performance navy.

“CPL. Jack Cody was the heartbeat of the platoon, “said in a statement, the maintenance officer of Marin Mandate Battalion 4, 4 Joshua Riddle, the 4th maintenance officer of the amphibian battalion. “He was a marine from time to time, he was a professional in everything he did, he enjoyed the outdoor and it would make everyone laugh.”

Cody was the second member of the service hit and killed by a vehicle while it worked this year. In JanuaryAir Force Technology. Sgt. Richard Padilla, a safety forces with the 24 -a fast implementation squadron of the 24 -a special operations, died when he was hit by a vehicle about a mile by Macdill.

In that incident, the police in Tampa said that a man intentionally hit Padilla and others with his vehicle in an incident of road anger that culminated with the suspect that he was shot and killed by the police.
