Five desired targets arrested in the crime ring for car theft, 80 stolen vehicles

Five targets accused in a national crime ring for the theft of cars arising from Fort Myers faces charges after arrest by the Florida Law on Tuesday.

When the department agents in Fort Myers identified 12 stolen vehicles from the counties, including Lee and Collier, the Florida Law Department has launched an investigation to identify the ones involved.

The agents learned that the suspects were living in the Tampa Bay area and targeted vehicles to rent the airport they intended to sell.

The five arrested suspects are:

  • Hector Rafael Gonzalez Tamayo, accused of rocket, under arrest in Tampa

  • Yoan Oriol Gonzalez Solorzano, accused of rocket, under arrest in tampa

  • Felipe Benitez Alonso, accused of rocket, in arrest in Tampa

  • Yainier Pinillo Toro, accused of rocket, in arrest in Texas

  • Maria Beatriz Rodriguez at Rosa, accused of rocket and holding a vehicle with modified numbers, in arrest in Tampa

Inti Gomez Alonso, the sixth and last suspect in the crime ring, remains free.

According to FDLE, the criminals had direct access to high quality rental vehicles.

The suspects transported the cars from a rental batch and changed the identification numbers of the vehicle with fraudulent wine, the agents said.

In addition, they planted tracking devices on the vehicles used by customers, which they also stole, the agents said.

According to Fle, The Crime Ring has committed similar crimes in other states, including Texas, Georgia, Colorado, Kentucky, Louisiana and Ohio.

The investigation was carried out in a cooperation effort between the Florida Design Design Department, Florida Highways Patrol, Internal Security Investigations and representatives of the Police Department of the International Airport in Tampa.

“This is an example of a collaboration manual in applying the law to the best, taking down a sophisticated crime ring from a operation that spread on the western coast of Florida,” said Mark Glass, the commissioner of the Lorida Law.
