Man arrested for the sexual abuse of the person with physical disabilities in Starke County

Starke County, Ind. – A Grovertown man, ind. He is behind the graces in Starke County on Friday morning, after having sexually abused a woman with a severe physical handicap.

Chad Demis, forty -four, was first implemented in the crime on June 23, 2024, when a report claimed that he had forced the victim and forced him to have oral sex.

The next day, search warrants for Demis’s residence, mobile phone records and DNA were obtained.

On June 25, these mandates were executed, and through the recordings of the mobile phone, the authorities found a dismissed text sent to a friend after the alleged attack.

“It was said that good people make bad decisions. I would never claim that I am a good person, but please do not” leave a decision, a instant on time, to destroy everything we have, “reads the message on his phone.

All collected samples, including a sexual aggression kit, bed sheets and linen, were presented for analysis by Starke County Authorities in July 2024.

On February 25, 2025, the laboratory analysis was completed, and the results indicated an insufficient amount of male DNA for additional analysis was found on the collected pads, but a quantity of DNA was found on the victim’s linen.

“The DNA profile is 39 million times more likely if it comes from (victim) and chad dismisses than if it was caused from (the victim) and an unknown person,” the report shows.
