The Tamil Nadu government announced on Friday 20,000 RS subsidies for the purchase of a new e-remoter at 2,000 Internet-based service workers, who are registered with the GIG workers’ Social Assistance Council. In order to provide professional training to the children of workers in construction and to improve their living opportunities, 7 new government industrial training institutes (ITI) with pensions facilities will be set up in districts with a high concentration of construction workers, namely Krishnagiri, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Madurai (Thharchundra) (Mannachanallur), Coimbatore (Perur) and Trichy (Mannachanallur), Coimbatore (Perurr) and Trichy (Mannachallur), Coimbatore (Perur) and Trichy (Manhanhanallur), Coimbatore. Dharmapuri (Karimangalam). These ITIs will provide training in 6 transactions at another 1,370 additional students annually and will be set up with the financial assistance of the Tamil Nadu Construction Council, at an estimated cost of 148 crores.

In the budget estimates, an amount of 1,975 CRORE RS has been allocated for the work assistance and skills development department.
