Japanese national and six key digits in mywaddy smuggling ring to be extradited

Yangon: Six key figures, including a Japanese national, arrested for their smuggling involvement, trafficking in people and money laundering operations in the KK Park area of ​​Shwe Kokko and Mae Htaw, was in Myawaddy Township, according to LT Col Maung Zaw, a spokesman for the force of Karen’s Front Guard (BGF).

Speaking at a press conference in Shwe Kokko, about 20 kilometers north of Mywaddy, Wednesday (March 12), LT Col Maung Zaw confirmed that the repression on smuggling and human trafficking was ongoing.

“These individuals play significant roles and cannot be extradited in a hurry. We will coordinate with relevant countries to ensure a structured transfer.

“The last group I treated consisted of illegal border crossings, which were treated human before being deported.

“The six key figures, including the Japanese national, will be transferred legally and systematically,” he said.

He further stressed that the detained persons, including the Japanese suspect, are detained under adequate conditions.

The Karen State BGF has launched the Operation of Anti-Human Traffic and Bregging on February 14th.
