Bradford Robber claims that “Gun” was a banana in a bag

A man acknowledged that he had plundered a post office with an imitation weapon -but a court challenged the assertion that the article was a banana in a plastic bag.

Ashley Asquith, 42, stole 6,000 pounds from Till during the robbery on Allerton Road from Bradford in February.

He pleaded guilty of the robbery and held an imitation firearm on Friday at Bradford Crown Court, and the court said that the “weapon” was hidden.

However, Asquith said he recognized the accusation based on the fact that it was actually a piece of fruit inside the bag.

The pursuit, Edison Flint told Judge Kirstie Watson that she did not accept Asquith’s event version and claimed that the article was an imitative gun or something designed to resemble one.

However, he said that if the CCTV filming of the incident did not exclude the presence of a banana, the criminal prosecution could accept the explanation of the defendant.

Defense, Fuad Arshad said there is no evidence of observing a weapon or contour of a weapon.

Judge Watson agreed that the criminal prosecution took time to analyze the material evidence and materials and to analyze whether the ASQUITH’s plea was acceptable.

She told Asquith that there may be a “process process” about the fact that what she had or not in her bag was a banana and whether she would make a difference in her sentence.

But she warned Asquith that she recognized “serious problems” and that she would be closed.

Asquith was withdrawn again in arrest and is going to return to court on June 6.
