The man accused of stabbing two women in Co Down

A man was accused of an incident in which two women were stabbed in Downpatrick.

The 26 -year -old has been accused of a number of crimes, including two charges of attempted murder and holding an offensive weapon, with the intention of committing an inhydration offense.

He is to be presented in front of the Court of Magistrates in Belfast, later, on Saturday.

The incident took place on Friday in a property from Stream Street in Co Down.

A 35 -year -old woman suffered a serious throat and other lacerations at the head and face, while a second woman, who is 50, suffered and stabbed wounds.

The police said that the wounds suffered by women were serious, but not in danger of life.
