Burglar breaks in 14 stores, stole 27,000 lei in a single night; custody

Up to 14 stores were broken, and the cash worth $ 27,000 were stolen by an unidentified robbery in the first hours of March 12. The burglar was captured on CCTV images from stores.

According to the police, the incident took place in the Sarai area of Thane, under the jurisdiction of the Naupada Police Section. The burglar used an iron rod to open the shutters from 14 stores and stole money from eight of them.

Most affected stores, including doctors, medical providers and furniture retailers, have mainly carried out online transactions, which have minimized financial losses.

The victims were warned by the locals and, upon arrival at their stores, found that only money were stolen. They immediately informed the local police and registered a thread. During the preliminary investigation, the CCTV materials showed that the theft entered the stores and looked for money in the drawers.

Senior Police Inspector Anil Mahajan from the Naupada Police Station said: “I recorded a thread after receiving complaints from the victims. A team was formed and we circulated the suspect’s photography in the police sections and to our local informants. We will do it soon.”

Meanwhile, the locals expressed their indignation on the patrol of the inadequate police, citing it as a reason for increasing thefts in the area.
