The Arm of Strand Larsen takes Wolves with nine points from the bottom three

Wolverhampton Wanderers took a huge step towards the Premier League safety, as they went with nine safety points with a 2-1 victory at Southampton.

The home part was unable to use a bright start, Jorgen Strand Larsen heading on the opening after the wonder of the delivery of Jean-Ricner Bellegarde.

The wolves doubled the advantage at just two minutes in the second half, while the weak defense of the hosts saw the Larsen beach move on the right foot and draw an effort in the bottom corner.

Southampton pulled a goal back, with 15 minutes left by the end of Paul Onuachu, after Tyler Dirt’s shot hit a post, but Wolves held.

The wolves remain 17th, but now they are nine points of ipswich, while Southampton remains at the bottom of the table with nine points from 29 matches.

How did the match unfolded

Southampton started better from the two parties and got an early chance, while Yukinari Sugawara slammed to the right before giving a dangerous ball on the front of the gate, but Kamaldeen Sulemana could not finish from a distance.

Joe Aribo threw an effort while Saints continued to dominate the early stages, but the visitors were the ones who took over the game. The Bellegarde cross was greeted by a fine headache from Larsen.

Southampton Show fight in defeat

Oamenii lui Ivan Juric au îndurat până acum o campanie nenorocită. But at least they could take some encouragement from their fighter display last weekend to Anfield, in which they drove half-time before giving up to a defeat by 3-1.

They also made a decent start here, Sugawara getting a lot of ball, causing problems to the right and unhappy not to raise an assistant, because Sulemana failed to pack her home.

But again, the lower club paid for weak defense. Any confidence after a good start escaped players after granting the opener.

Most of the fluency and incision that attacked the 20 minutes fell during the rest of the half, although it is worth credit for the fight again in the second. The dif was in the center of their most promising attacks and had a key hand in the gate.

But Juric’s part gave him too much to do. The poor defense of the transition contributed to Wolves’s second of the second after the second half had time to breathe.

Southampton returns to action with another home game on April 2 against Crystal Palace.

Wolves get closer to safety

A 1-1 draw with 1-1 against Everton at home last weekend was a respectable result for wolves without Matheus Cunha. But, given Southampton’s situation this season, this would have been allocated as a vital match to beat the fall.

They did not start very well and they were fortunate not to give an early goal, but the opening of Strand Larsen, helped by a wonderful delivery from Bellearde, seemed to calm the nerves. Also, the goal seemed to allow Vator Pereira’s part to keep the ball better, as they saw the rest of the half more comfortable.

The beginning of the second could not have started much better for visitors, through the second goal of the game of Strand Larsen, the Norwegian climbing to fill the goal left by the suspended Cunha.

They were unable to add a third, Joao Gomes flowing a centimeter with a width from empty to 2-0. The wolves had to dig deep for the last 15 minutes to keep their unique empty advantage, but it managed to pass.

Their next match is at home at West Ham on April 1, after international break.
