Three men distracted and robbed a Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, a resident in the pretext of being utility workers and looking for the entrance to the house, the Local Police said.

The victim was an elderly person who is dementia, added the Grosse Pointe Farms police in their report.

One of the suspects wore a “yellow” hood and distracted the victim while the other two men threw themselves through a bedroom. Theft happened on March 8 at Wayne County House and was reported on March 14 by family members who observed missing objects during a visit.

“Please make sure that our detectives actively examine the recovered video surveillance materials,” the police report said.

The officers said that even if a utility worker looks ID and you are still not sure, or something, call 911 or contact the local police department to check the situation. The Grosse Pointe Farms police line is 313-885-2100.
