Police, FBI investigating burglary, vandalism at North Wichita Church

Wichita, Kan. (Kwch) – 17:30 Update: The Kansas Catholic Conference shared photos from inside the church.

Authorities are still investigating the incident, and the church has announced that all services are canceled until further notification.

Wichita police are investigating a burglary that involved the vandalism and burning of an American flag on Saturday morning at a North Wichita Catholic church.

WPD said the officers were sent to St. Patrick Catholic Church in the 2000 Block of N. Arkansas for the ratio of a theft shortly after 8:30

When the officers arrived, they found extensive damages, including the hatred speech painted by spray on the church and a burnt American flag. The statues, candles and glass were also damaged.

WPD is investigating the incident with the Wichita, FBI and ATF fire department.

The church shared through social networks that Saturday night’s meal service is canceled.
