Twenty -four arrested for drug trafficking suspects in Terence

Kuala Lumpur, March 16 – Police arrested 24 people, including a woman, for drug trafficking suspects and confiscated drugs worth 50,000 RM50,000 in Terence and Kelantan under OPS Penyu from March 6 to 12.

Director of the Criminal Investigation Department Bukit Aman Narcotics Director of DSP Mat Zani@Mohd Salahuddin Che Ali said that the seven -day operation was performed at Dungun, Setiu and Besut in Târggananu, as well as at Pasir Puh, Kelantan to stop the drug flow between the borders of both states.

“Twenty -four people, 25 to 46 years old, were arrested and 2,411 Yaba pills, 100 ecstasy pills and 500 grams of cannabis estimated to be RM50,000,” he said today, adding that 13 were positive for drugs.

He added that persons are investigated in accordance with the 1952 Dangerous Drug Law, the Dangerous Drug Law (special preventive measures) of 1985 and the Dangerous Drug Law (Property Confestment), he added. – Bernama
