Suspect in the Besut shot involved in drug trafficking, the police say

Kuala Land: Police believes that the suspect shot dead in a Beut incident, early this morning, was involved in drug trafficking activities.

The head of the Police Landggananu, Datuk Mohd Khairi Khairudin, said that the 31 -year -old man from Pasir Puh, Kelantan, had seven previous criminal records, including drugs, criminal intimidation, burglary, theft and reinforced robbery.

He said that around 2.20 at the Air Base Royal Malaysian Air Force Kedak in Besut, a team of officers and personal from the Criminal Investigation Department of Bukit Aman, who drove patrols under OP Lara, met a traction vehicle with four Suspect Ford Rang.

“As efforts were made to signal the vehicle for inspection, the suspect suddenly fired several shootings at the police.

“The police shot back in self-defense until there was no return fire. At the vehicle inspection, they found the dead suspect,” he said in a press conference at the Contingent Police headquarters.

He said that, at the subsequent check, the police found a brown gun with a magazine and several living bullets on the driver’s floor.

It was also found that a black pack contains “Pil Kuda” and a suspected transparent plastic bag that contains Syabu, estimated to be worth RM29,000.

Mohd Khairi said the case is investigated in accordance with section 307 of the Criminal Code for the attempted murder.

He added that the case was not related to the incident that involved three foreign criminals who were shot dead in Desa Vista, Sepang, Selangor, Friday.

Mohd Khairi asked the public not to spread false information about the incident, which could interfere with investigations.
