Hygiene violations at the Base of Kelantan Ramadan result in a RM12.300 fines for 112 traders, says State Exco

Kota Bharu, March 16 – a number of 112 traders from Ramadan basaars from Kelantan were fined 12,300 RM for various hygiene violations from the beginning of Ramadan.

Hilmi Abdullah said that 3,433 stalls in Ramadan basaars said.

The violations included the absence of food management certificates, the failure to receive typhoid vaccines, inappropriate outfits and do not wear aprons while handling food.

“These offenses have been aggravated in accordance with the 2009 food hygiene regulation. However, no trader was forced to close his stands.

“They have been issued ash warnings to improve hygiene,” he said after a donation event for 1,000 people ASNAF, widows and orphans from Dataran Warisan, Sultan Muhammad IV, today.

He added that 59 monitoring teams with 140 staff have been implemented to supervise the compliance of hygiene during the month.

He asked the public to report food hygiene issues at Ramadan basaars, scanning the QR codes displayed in locations. – Bernama
