Hornell man arrested for entering the motel room, assaulting the guest

A Hornell man is experiencing charges of crime and crimes, after supposed to have entered a motel chamber and attacked another person during a noise dispute, according to the New York State Police.

The troops were arrested on Zachary D. Smith, 25 years old, following an investigation into a physical altercation at Econom Lodge on Seneca Road North in Hornell. The authorities say that Smith forced his way in the room of another guest on Tuesday night and physically assaulted him, causing wounds. The attack also led to deterioration of the door frame and the threshold of the room.

The police were called on the spot shortly before 10:00 and found several people gathered outside the motel. The victim was evaluated by Hornell City ambulance staff and subsequently transported to St. Memorial Hospital. James for additional treatment.

Smith has been charged with a second degree burglary, a C -class Crime, as well as a third -degree attack and criminal mistakes of the fourth, both class A. due to previous convictions, he is detained at the prison in Steuben County without bail.
