Iraq takes over more than one ton of captain pills shipped from Syria

Baghdad – Iraq’s security forces confiscated 1.1 tons of captain pills inside a truck that entered Iraq in Syria through Turkey, the Ministry of Interior said on Sunday.

Drug transport, the largest ever confiscated in Iraq, was followed and intercepted with the assistance of “important information” provided by the Saudi drug application agency, said the spokesman of the Ministry of Interior, the Muqdad Meri brigadier, in a televised statement.

Western anti-narcotic officials say that the addiction stimulant, of the type of amphetamine, known as the Captagon has been produced in Syria for years.

Captagon – a mixture of amphetamines also known as “poor cocaine” – is one of the most popular recreational drugs among rich young people in the Middle East. Reuters
