Punjab police arrest 2 Hawala operators

Punjab police arrested two Hawala operators because they would be facilitating illegal financial transactions on Sunday. RS 17.60 Lakh Cash and a laptop with critical transaction records were recovered from the duo after throwing the Narco-terror Hawala rocket, the police said.

“In a decisive repression on drug networks, the Rural Police in Amritsar refers to two Hawala operators, Sukhjit Singh and Ranbir Singh, which facilitates illegal financial transactions related to drug trafficking,” the general manager of the Gaurav Yadav police posted on X Sunday. “The Punjab police systematically dismantle the drug ecosystem – aiming at traffickers, their financiers and activators. Anyone is involved in this dirty trade will face severe consequences,” DGP said.

Yadav said that the arrests came against the backdrop of a 561 -gram heroin crisis of the Local Police of Amritsar. The accused was involved in Hawala’s financing and other drug supply chains.

Offering additional details, Deputy Inspector General of the Police (DIG), the Border Satinder Singh, said that the development came from the thorough investigations and supported the tracking of the connections back and before in the accused arrest Gurursahib Singh and Jaswant Singh, near the village of Hardan Ratan, after recovering 561 grams of heroine.
